FAQ

  • I burned my candle for 4 hours, but it didnt reach a full melt pool. Did I do something wrong?

Great question and no, you did not do anything wrong. We find that sometimes leaving behind some wax with those first few burns, makes a safer candle. As the candle burns lower in the container, more heat gets trapped. With this said, if we have it all melt on the first, second and sometimes third bun, the flame gets too hot and produces too much heat and/or soot as it burns down. Continue burning in 4-hour increments and all that wax will melt off the sides as the flame burns lower. So, if one of your candles does not fully melt on the first 4-hour burn, that’s ok!

  • My candle has been sitting and seems to have a slightly brownish color around the edges. Is this ok?

Yes, it is! This is actually a chemical reaction to the vanillin content in the scent. Some scents have none at all, but some have a lot leading to a quicker change of color. This is completely safe to burn and does not affect the candle performance at all. You will find this happens more and quicker in tins as well.

  • What's the difference between a candle and a melt?

Thank you for this question and I am happy to answer it for you. Your basic candle is comprised of wax, scent and a wick. When you light the wick producing a flame, it pulls up the scent and disperses it through the air. A candle melt is that same wax and scent but there is no wick. Instead, you place a few on a wax warmer where the heat melts the wax and disperses the scent. The major difference between the two is typically the involvement of a flame.

  • How long will my order take to ship?

We like to ship orders 24-48 hours from when the order was placed. It will then likely take anywhere from 3-5 days to land on your doorstep. Thankfully our shipping partners provide tracking so if anything changes or any delays are unavoidable, your tracking number will provide all the updates.

  • How do I know I will like the scent?

In all transparency this is the one downside to shopping online for anything, you never really know if it will be a good fit. Because of this, we try to advertise the scent profiles as best we can. When it comes to candles and melts, The Nestled Wick advises to stick to scents you know you enjoy around your home. All the scent options have the scent profiles in the description which will help you steer clear of scents you know you’re not a fan of and purchase ones you know you’ll love!

  • Is it ok to move my candle while it's burning?

While it’s not advised to move a lit candle, there are a few reasons why you proably should or may have too so, yes you can. However, please be mindful that the container your candle is in may be hot to the touch and may require you distinguishing the flame first and allowing it to cool before moving it. Also make sure to never let loose clothing, hair or jewelry meet with the flame at any time, especially while on the move.
